Start with the important journeys
List the few things visitors need to do. For each journey, identify an entry page, the information needed to decide and the next action. Use those journeys to decide the page structure rather than treating navigation as a list of departments.
Make content part of the build
Use realistic headings, image sizes and copy in early layouts. A design that works only with perfect placeholder text will struggle when someone publishes a long title or a missing image. Decide who can edit each kind of content and how changes are reviewed.
Define done beyond launch
Agree on accessibility checks, supported browsers, redirects and ownership of accounts. Include a way to report an issue and a documented rollback process. A launch is easier to support when someone can explain where the content lives and how it is updated.
