Count the work around the work
Reviews, handovers and maintenance all use time. Keep them alongside production tasks when looking at upcoming commitments. A calendar that only counts delivery hours leaves important obligations invisible.
Clarify the next milestone
For each active project, record the next deliverable, the person who owes feedback and any dependency that could block progress. This makes it easier to explain availability without promising dates based on guesswork.
Review the system regularly
Keep a short weekly review of what moved, what stalled and what needs a decision. Use the pattern to improve scoping and communication. This is an organizational exercise rather than a prediction of income or demand.
